WOW, just even another question about another team from the West winning the NBA Title is scary. I mean, do you really think that Oden can oust the powerhouse Spurs, Mavs, or Suns? Seattle and Portland's acquisitions of two of the best prospects of the decade will definitely help them, but I don't think either of them will make the playoffs. If Portland kept Randolph and Seattle kept Allen, maybe they will make the playoffs and have a crack at the top teams, but by trading their respective stars, these two teams are playing for the future, not for 2008. Watch out for them a few years down the road though!

Too early. The 2010 title however looks like a fair bet. By then the existing dominant West teams will be retooling with many of their stars well into their 30's. Nowitzki, Duncan, Nash, Kobe etc will either be well and truly vetrans or perhaps even gone by then and if Portlands young core can develop over the next two seasons then 2010 looks like a strong possibility.

Two questions why would i happen and why wouldbn't it happen. It would happen because they have superstar/s and good players? No, Greg Doen will ahve a o.k career in the NBa, and the only other good player is Steve Francis hwho is a old ballhog. WHY wouldn't it happnen, expeirence and no supeerstars! Greg Oden compared to Amare SToudiamre is like looking at a shark (amare) to a gupee(oden)! Not size wise but experience and talent wise. When you have a great, two time mvp playmaker pg like steve nash and know you will get the ball and get rebounds you have a shot of being great and a chmapionship team. Greg Oden has Steve Francis who will just shoot and get out-rebounded by the veterans in the NBA. No it won't happen and they need to get a superstar who makes the players around him better!

hold on one second........... the blazers are a great team, no doubt about it, but they are to young. They have lots of talent like Aldrige, Roy, Oden, LaFrentz, Frye, Miles, McRoberts and Green. They are very talented, but very young. They can't contend this year or the year after that. However in a crudy division that is the northwest I could see them in the playoffs next year. But contend for a title? NO. Maybe another 2-3 years shall do it.

No, they are WAY too young. They should be much improved and fun to watch though. A playoffs team almost a lock, but not a chance at a title. Maybe in a couple years, depending upon whether Oden turns into Bill Walton or Bill Russell.

Have the blazers moved East? If not, not a chance for them to get it all this year. There's too much hype on this team. On paper, they are an awesome bunch but that does not translate to winning. I'll give them between 3-5 years to win at least 1!

Slow down, you havent even seen the team play yet. Who knows, stevie franchise might actually do something this time around. Roy needs to develop his passing skills and we all know he can score. Give the team some time and wait for the western conference elites to die off. Utah, Houston are on the rise. Phoenix and Dallas will be back for vengeance. San Antonio will look to retain. Lakers? might try to tank like Celtics and Memphis of last year and get that number 1 pick.

No, not next year. You will definatly be a playoff team next year probably about a 6 seed, then next year a 3 seed then win the chanpionship in 3 or four years! The sonics will also be good then too because they started rebuilding on draft day. Teams like Phoenix, Dallas, and San Antonio aren't going to be good because they will be OLD! haha
