Isaiah Washington believes that the only reason he was fired from "Greys Anatomy" is because he is black. He says that America can't forgive someone who is black. He also said:

"If a black man can't get forgiveness in this country, when so many other people like Robert Downey Jr. and the governor of California get second and third chances... I think that says a lot about race and this country, where we stand."

Do you believe that Isaiah Washington was fired because of his race and not the comments he made last year?

Nope, he punched a guy on the set, and then issued loud bad statements that were anti-gay, causing a great deal of embarrassment. His statement is a further sign he can't take responsibility for his actions.

Thats bullcrap. Isaiah Washington getting fired from Greys Anatomy had nothing whatsoever to do with him being BLACK. The shows creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes is also BLACK. Theres other black actors on the show also. Isaiah Washington is full of bullsh*t. He needs to get over himeself. Isaiah was fired cause of his insensitive and intolerant HOMOPHOBIC comments toward T R Knight another actor on the show whos gay in real life. Isaiahs insensitive homophobic comments caused some anger and tension on the set and with the ABC network. His Homophobic comments also caused a big furror with the gay community. Isaiah brought things upon himself by mouthing off his big mouth. He has no one to blame but himself

No, not at all. As a man of color he should understand prejudice yet he promoted it by gay bashing a fellow cast member. Not only once yet again during an award show back stage interview. He showed disrespect and contempt. As he does now. Perhaps in these days of tabloid trash media exposure he feels the press is best. No matter the cost. He lost his job and few will hire him for serious roles now. He had a chance to say sorry and cease, he chose more publicity. Too bad, he is an excellent actor.

I agree that what he is arguing is crap. He got fired because he made hate speech against one of his cast members. Had McDreamy called Isaiah an n word, he would be fired immediately and fade into oblivion. It's only because we live in a society that favors the rights of people of color over the rights of women and gays and lesbians that Isaiah was allowed to take it as far as he did. The man is a pig and anyone who supports him should be ashamed of themselves.

I think he got fired because he made a mistake and while hos friends and employers were trying to clean up the first mess, he pops off like a smartass and does it again. You don't hafta be black to be stupid. Ps they were mean to me coz I'm....is geeting to be a snooze. How about they fired him coz he's a dumbass? Child needs a forehead slap. and just because he's rude is no reason the condemn our Country. I wouldn't watch him again in anything, just like I haven't seen a John Wayne movie since I heard from HIM that he was anti-semite. Sheesh, hate alone...

He was fired for making things tense on the set and causing fights between people, not because of his race.

But I will admit he has a good point that several cast members were able to demand salary raises after the incident happened.

Do you really think that the producers of Grey's Anatomy would fire anyone JUST because he was a particular race? They have way too much to lose to do something that dumb.

Yes and No

1st answer when you are a minority you have to be careful of what you do or say.

2nd. He should not have called his fellow colleague a name, because he was minority and the cast is mostly a different race and color- he was going to be under more scrutiny the majority.

I t was definitely his fault for not thinking before speaking

no i think he got fired for being a jerk, i do think greys anatomy needs to add another black actor to its lineup, hes just playing the race card. i mean they have a hispanic doctor, and a gay asian man triying to adopt a child, and the chief is black so i dont think its racism at all.

No, I think they fired him due to pressure from gay rights groups to do some kind of action for what he did.

To me, it wouldn't make sense for him to be fired for being black, given that Shonda Rhimes, the creator and most influential woman in terms of production of the show, is black herself.
