That's like asking
"Why do people get tattoos?"
It's just a tatto. Everyone has different reasons for it.
And are married women not allowed to show some skin? Be sexy every once in a while?

body art is just an external expression, when you get a tattoo, it is usually of something that has meaning to you, I am married and want to get a tattoo of a griffin on my lower back, not because of anyone else but for me and my husband thinks tastefully done tats are sexy, believe it or not, he still likes looking at me and finds me sexy, so don't assume that body art is for the masses. It's personal and permanent, this is almost like asking why a married woman still wears make up or sexy sundresses, or cute shoes, get out of the puritan mind set, married women can still express themselves artistically, tastefully and creatively, and yes it empowers you and makes you feel sexy which keeps the passion alive in your marriage.

I am married, and I have a lower back tattoo, and I dont wear clothes that show it off to everyone. I got it because I like tattoos and that is where I wanted to put it. It doesnt make me a tramp or anything, I dont care what they call them. People get tattoos because they want to, they should not be judged by where they get them.

Maybe they got it before they were married.

Besides what about the other tattoo they got that is in a place that everyone can not see? The visible one is just a teaser. The private one is the real shocker.

This is the result from Wikipedia:

The lower back tattoo is body decoration with the intent of emphasizing sexual attractiveness. Generally, a lower back tattoo will be designed to emphasize the shape and curvature of the female figure. While such tattoos have become increasingly popular and accepted in recent years, they remain controversial in some quarters. Wearers regard their tattoos as sexy and a way of empowering themselves as women by asserting their sexuality. However, opponents consider tattoos in this location as suggestive of promiscuity and an indication of Raunch Culture. Slang terms for the tattoo include "tramp stamp," "***-catcher," "ho tag," "*** antlers," "bull's-eye," "Panama City license plate," etc.

I promise I am not trying to offend (since I think about 70% of my friends have one) but we call it the "Tramp Stamp". It is a phase and is fashionable right now. Wait until they get older and it is around their butt!
