Today would have been my 7th wedding anniversary if we'd stayed married. Our divorce is not yet final though we've been separated for over two years. I have a new boyfriend and I'm living in another state where things are good and I'm generally happy. Any ideas why I'm so bummed out today? No, I don't miss my ex -- I see him every six weeks when he visits our son and I am not attracted to him anymore.
Thanks! :)

Because no matter how badly things turned out, you still have to mourn for the dreams you once had for it.
It doesn't make you weird, it makes you all too human as we all are...

Hugs to you today!

I think it's natural to feel this way even though you don't have romantic feelings for your ex anymore. Getting a divorce is alot like someone dying....you have to grieve and move on eventually. This was a special day in your life in the past and it's ok to grieve what once was....but make sure that you don't hold on to that grief. If you are truely happy with your current situation, take some time to remember....then count the blessings in your life right now! Sounds like you are already in the process of moving on. Good luck!
