Not everyone thinks they need some other being to complete them.
There are those that feel the world is a big frightening place and want someone by their side to face the unknown as comrades in arms.

It has been said that society has conditioned us to feel this way. That is not true. Love is a completely natural phenomenon that, once experienced, leaves you feeling the desire to be loved back. If a man has everything he needs, but lacks the love of another human being, then what good is it all? Please trust me when I say that it is completely natural for two people to "complete" each other's lives.

people think they need a significant other because that's the status quo right now- find a significant other= be happy.
personally i think it's stupid. i mean yea, if you find the right prson they can make you happy but you don't need to be with someone to be happy. alot of the boyfriends i've had have made my life more complicated, not simpler or happier...
but i think the best answer is that- if you find somone who you really like and makes you happy, why not? but no one should be pressured to get together with someone "just because" (i have. it sucks.)

I don't believe that to be true. Society has taught us that. People who feel this way are usually very insecure. We need friends and family, but it does not have to be a mate.

why does an apple need seeds? men need women (vice versa)
b/c its a preconditioned desire that is implanted in your brain when you are in the womb and it starts to surface around puberty. hummm i wonder why....? the one and only reason is sex, every animal has a desire for sex, it is that way because our species would eventually die out if sex was not a priority...we are animals...we desire sex subconsciencely...it is a basic human need...therefore we desire the oppiste sex for that reason
