My son stuck a blueberry up his nose and it's WAY up there....I can see it with a flashlight, but it's like up in the part of his nose where the bone is, not in the cartilege area. We've tried closing the other nostril and blowing it out, and I tried to make him sniff pepper so he would sneeze, but it didn't work. Do I need to take him to the ER? I don't know what to do!

Don't freak out. The heat of his body will gradually deteriorate the berry. Its not toxic and the acidity of the berry will not damage his nose. The berry will soften and come out naturally. If you put him to bed the berry will be out in the morning. But... Blue berry stains are a pain. If it is still stuck tomorrow go to the Doc. Luck with this. Remember, Its just a berry.

Well a blueberry isn't harmful up the nose, but you probably should take him to the local urgent care center. You could try a pair of tweezers to see if you could get a grip on the blueberry and pull it out.

Why don't you try calling his pediatrician first, he/she will be able to best advise you the next step. If you can't get in touch with the Dr. just go to the ER. I have always found that I never feel truly calm unless I take my son to a Dr. when he's somethings wrong.

You should take him. If there is a 24 hr clinic instead, like an Urgent Care place that would be better. They have the tweezers that can pull it out in secounds. I would not let him recline and sleep though. The last thing you want is him breathing that berry into his lungs.

DO NOT try to remove an object that is not visible and easy to grasp. This can push the object farther in or cause damage to tissue.
DO NOT use tweezers or other instruments to remove an object lodged deeply in the nose.

Sorry, you must take him to the ER.
