It went off on me one time because of the wire in my bra!!!lol

It was at LA Airport right after the ban on flights was lifted after 9/11. It kept going off when I went through and they kept making me take off clothing, first my shoes then my sweater, then my blouse (it had metal buttons and I had a colored T on underneath) This gorgeous hunk was waving this wand thing around me and it kept going off around my head.
He said it would be a good time to tell them about the metal plate in my head. He knew I had a sense of humor because when I was instructed to take off my blouse I started to hum that stripper song they use on TV. He saw the startled look on my face, an eyebrow went up. I opened my mouth and let him see the dental work. He put the wand in front of my mouth sideways and that sucker went ballistic!
He just turned around and said "metal mouth" to his partner.

When I had brain surgery-they put 13 metal coils in my brain to fill up an anuerism. I had a heck of a time explaining that at the airport. I'm a 70 yo handicapped great-grandmother. That didnt matter, I was still detained until they sent for my x-rays.
Guess I looked scary or something. Now I carry my x-rays with me when I travel.

No, but about a week before 9/11 I went through a checkpoint with a full bottle of Irish Whiskey in my carry-on bag (It was a gift for someone) and they didn't even bother to open my bag, they just let me through. Things have sure changed since then, eh?

No, yet this one time I had like 4 jewelry on, and a bracelet... And an ankle bracelet i did not understand I had on, with some piece of metallic on it... no person ought to make your techniques up what it became, then finally I remembered... It became a touch embarrassing.

yes - it was the big buckle on my belt, and some jewellery. had to take them off and go back through. Never prayed so much that it wouldn't go off again the second time i walked through lol.

Hehe yes, several times, its quite funny to have them try to find out why I beep. I have metal in my leg and it goes off in the metal dectector at the airport.

i went through and actually had my tongue ring earrings and some other metal stuff and it didn't go off. My mom went through after me, she had both shoulders replaced with metal and it didn't go off. we told the lady and she was a little worried. it was at the courthouse too.
