It just kinda goes "plink plink"--it does not sound even remotely like something you can actually expect to make music with.

if you are thinking about learning to play electric guitar, it would be very difficult to do without an amp because you can't hear it very well at all. i suppose it can be done, though. they have really reasonable starter guitars that come with an amp. i bought one for my step-son a couple of years ago and paid about 150.00 for it on sale and it really was of good quality for a starter guitar.

it will be very quite. Electric strings on an electric guitar will not produce very much noise without being ran through an amp.

well.....without the amp its just...really soft...but i recommend you get an amp and then just get a pair of headphones so you can only hear it...plus the amp doesnt have to be full blast...you can have it low if you want....
well hope that helps.

as long as you know what your playin and how to play it... it sounds the same but a lot quieter... the strings is the only thing making a sound so it will be more hi pitched.. just like the plink plink the one gurl was sayin... better way to practise so no one really notices when you mess up.. lol.. just my idea though..

You can really only hear it if your within like 8 feet of the guitar. Maybe 8 feet. I got mine right next to me and really its just quiter.

Yes. You can still play it and hear the notes. It's just not very loud.

It sounds the same through the amp. It is just not as loud. Its is still lound enough to hear when you are playing though.
