Yes. Any waters you want. You will need to buy the electronic charts for the area you want to navigate and then have a computer that is capable of loading these charts and reading your GPS at the same time. If you have a quality ships chandler in your area, they can get you set up. Other option is the Coast Guard at this website.

Gps tells u where u are, no more. If u want to navigate around anything u need more info, such as input from radar, charts (digital or otherwise). Ocean waterways sounds a bit of a misnomer as coasts are not oceans. To navigate coasts of Alaska for sure you need good charts, some kind of location device such as gps (yes it is the recognised norm nowadays, but not the only), and you need the usual ability of good seamanship.

I'm Sure that if you look up the Garmin web site they will help you with whatever charts etc for your gps, best of luck. vinnie

Yes, some come preloaded with Charts.
