One day I was working in my garden and I knew that I bought tomato seeds so I planted them. The next day I went to my garden and instead of the tomato I was hoping for a giant alien sprouted up instead. Why did this happen?

It may have been a tomato horn worm. I know that they look a little frightening and somewhat alien to most but they won't eat you, just your tomatoes if they ever come up.
