The IOC dropped baseball as a medal sport after 2008 -- so it won't be included in the 2012 games. The sport (well, whatever international governing body represents it) can apply to be re-instated for the 2016 summer games.

Baseball WILL be included in the 2008 Summer Olympics, here's the official web site stating it:

http://en.beijing2008.cn/cptvenues/sports/baseball/index.shtml

Also, be sure to check out these other great olympic sports: Softball, Shooting, Handball, and Table Tennis, some of the greatest athletes in the world will be vying for Olympic Gold in these sports including Badminton in China....woo-hoo, badminton, I hope Ortiz and Urlacher with be competing in '08.
