does a tatoo hurt, the younger you are the more does it hurt?

I have 13 tattoos. It depend on where you get them, not your age. Bony areas like ankles hurt more than arms or legs. It also depends on you pain tolerance...some people cant tolerate it while others don't mind it. It a very personal experience.

Its not so much about age but the elasticity of your skin if the skin it sun damaged it toughens and becomes loose so its like trying prick a deflated balloon as apposed to a a fully inflated one The needles go through supple skin easier than aged skin . the fact that you are younger may only come into the equation as your level of pain tolerance is lower . I was tattooed at 18 and at 30 it still hurts . yes placement and skin texture and the pressure applied by the artist are all facts to be taken into consideration. But a good tattoo artist is able to almost half the pain that would be encountered by a bad or inexperienced artist. IT ALWAYS SMARTS.

It does hurt, a little. I usually have a very low pain tolerance, and I thought it was really going to hurt when I got my tattoo on my back. It really wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. It usually depends on where you get the tattoo and how big it is. Hope this helps.

Yes they do. Also why does a young girl want to get a tattoo. I started getting home made tats when i was 12. Now i am 53 and i have heaps of unwanted tats. Take it from someone who knows, don't get any. Mine have stopped me from getting jobs i have wanted and also people tend to look at you and think you are not a good person. So realy think hard on this one.

You dont need to get a tatoo, when your about 65 years old and skin saggin and it will look nasty unless you have alot of money to have it lazered off by then. Just because everyone else is doing it.. dont do it/

yes it dose hirt it,s like a bee sting or a knife when some cuts they leg or a road rash. and the closer it get to the bone the more it hirts .so never get a boyfriends name on you. jest some thing that has meaning to you because boy move on to other girls and removing a tatoo is twice as painfull. get pichure of flowers or butterflys. or a heart that says dad or mom.

It's irritating, and it depends on where you get it. Yes it does hurt but not as bad as you think it will. I got one on my back and it makes your spine tingle in a bad way. I've heard under the arm on the rib cage is the most painful, and the neck too.

My tattoos didn't hurt, though there were some uncomfortable moments when part of the tat reached to my shoulder.

I was told (and I believe it) that the best way to tell how bad its going to hurt is by where it located. Any place that sees sunshine... like your arm... isn't going to hurt as badly as a place that doesn't see sunshine... like the underside of your arm.

Age probably isn't that big a factor regarding pain......... its all about placement.........

I got a tattoo when i was 18 and I only thought the outline hurt in which every one I know only thinks that. I dont think Its matters really but if your older you have probally been through more pain tolernt things to deal with it.

Heck yes, it hurts. Imagine........hundreds of shots! Remember when you were a kid and just one shot made you shiver???

I'd never do it again......never!!!!
Of course, I'm a big baby. I lived to tell about it, so I guess it's not really that bad.
Make sure you go to a reputable tattoo artist. Make sure it's a clean place!! I really do like mine.
