Well you could say that but its really the Giant corporations and the super Elite who control it all. Just take a look at General Electric they own NBC and they also sell 50,000 aircraft engines to the government and the super Elite own GE. The military industrial complex and the media work together to influence opinion so that the government run by the politicians they spent money on to get elected will buy more military equipment and give them government contracts. Its money that runs the government, remember the golden rule, He who has the gold makes the rules.

The media is censored regardless of what they say.

Both sides are allowed to be presented, but it is not presented equally.

Also, media hypes up what they are told to hype up, and keep quiet about what they are told to keep quiet about.

They can give front page news to certain events in smaller areas with a low crime rate, and cover it for three months or more. Then this same event could happen in a major city and get a paragraph on the last page of the newspaper.

Also, writing is to be non-biases if it is correct. And media presents some things in a non-biased way, but will promote more ideas or events to the way that they are told.

Yes, we have 'freedom of speech.' But only to the extent of what is the given thing. A person in the media presenting a biased opinion of their own free will, and standing for it against the majority, will usually lose their jobs. So, yes, they will do as told.

Nope.
Eveyone already knows this:
The News Media Supports the Government when there is a Democrat President.
The News Media Hates the Government when there is a Republican President.

You are absolutely correct - this premise of the government controlling the media is silly. Hell, they can't even control the border - how would they ever manage to control the countless media sources we have available to us?
Come to think of it - the government can't even control itself.

It is stupid, because it isn't true. Isn't that obvious? Almost all networks cut-down the Bush Administration, except Fox, for the most part. Are these idiots trying to convince you that Bush wants the news media to tell you he is incompetent? They do it, and I am VERY positive, Mr. Bush didn't tell them to. LMAO! Thanks for the question. I got a great laugh!

Sir, above. Any control done on news programs is by the network itself. Forgot about LIVE TV did you? How does the FCC control LIVE television? News is live, Sir!

No the government doesn't control the media...The Big Media organizations control the Govt and the politicians with their money and influence!

They buy them with contributions, coverage or the threat of lack of coverage!

From Lamont v Postmaster General [381 US301] . Now it is about "access". News outlets can't be "overly" critical about the administration because their reporters' credentials will be cancelled and they won't be able to report on the press conference.

It's all about controll of access, control of information, control of interpretation (spin).
