We can say people go to nightclubs to have fun and socialize, but I feel that their is something more. Nightclubs involve immorality and heavy drinking. Usually people who are going through problems in life do these things. Am I right?

I am not being judgemental, Nicole. I did not say all people who are having life problems go to nightclubs, only that usually people with these problems do go nightclubbing. I know others have different methods of running away from their problems. I am also not saying that every perosn who goes to a night clubs has problems either.

People go there looking for love and acceptance. Some people find the phoniness and the compliments gratifying and they feel it as building their self image. If they have little self esteem they find compliments and being stared at as akin to feeling attractive and wanted.

I am sure the answer varies as much as the personalities of the individuals attending also the stage in life the individual is at. Many simply go to enjoy the social scene. Enjoy the atmosphere. Some may attend to find a date, a lover, a one night stand, a potential life partner, to people watch, get intoxicated, get drugged out, to enjoy the experience who knows what may happen. Some get together with friends and enjoy the atmosphere of a club with a close circle of friends. There is not one answer, not everyone is seeking immorality and heavy drinking. Some attend clubs and do not partake the consumption of any alcoholic beverages. God bless****

I don't think that there is really an answer to your question. People go to nightclubs for different reasons. Some of them want to be immoral or run from their problems, but I think a lot of people go for fun. People like to have fun. Dancing and drinking for many is fun. I think you are trying to over analyze things.

People go to nightclubs because they think it's fun. They go to socialize, both with the people they arrive with and perhaps to flirt with people they don't know. They most often drink alcohol, but to say that all drink "heavily" is not true. They go to dance, listen to music and people-watch. You may find this behavior immoral but not everyone does. It seems to me that most people don't. And no, people who enjoy nightclubs are not necessarily going through problems in life.

Nope, I think you are being judgmental.
People might go to BARS when they have problems, but not ALL people who go to bars and nightclubs "are going through problems in life."
I personally like to go to nightclubs for the social atmosphere, loud music, and a few drinks. Although I'll admit I also don't like dancing with strange guys, so I may not be your average club goer- I will only dance with friends or my husband.

I just go to dance. Some go for the free drinks their bartender friend throws their way. Mostly, it's socialization, though. One can have a good time with friends, talk way too loudly about things one normally wouldn't discuss while sober, and play pool. That's another reason why I go. To play pool . . . .

I go only for the music and to socialize. If you go to drink heavily and engage in immoral behavior, just speak for yourself. Don't project your own guilt on everyone else.

I think so. I've only been to a nightclub once and left very quickly because I just don't like all the unnatural lights, loud music and alcohol (I'm a teetotaller).

Because they are bored and need entertainment. Also to find a boyfriend or girlfriend. Another reason is to show off their outfits and new hairstyles.

Ermmm.... apart from the socialising, I would guess it could also be to meet potential partners - long-term, short-term, sexual, one-night stand, etc.???
And/or to get so drunk or so high on drugs that they can forget about their boring lives or their shitty jobs for at least a couple of hours a week.
