"United we stand" is more of a metaphorical statement. The metaphor of it possibly relates back to the early origins of America, in the early 1800's. Back then you couldn't voice your opinions over the internet and such. When it came time to fight for freedom, citizens would literally unite and stand together, be it in protests like the Boston Tea Party or on the battlefeilds of the battles against the British.

Thus now adays the same concept is set, that in order to keep America functioning correctly citizens must unite and "stand" up to big brother and make themselves known.

It has nothing to do with physically standing. A citizen with no legs can make just as much of an impact as a standing two legged person on the nets, in protests / rallys, and most importantly in the voting booths.

So no, leggless people are probably not offended.

Oh, I hope not. Now I feel sad. I would never want legless people to be offended by something like that.

So, perhaps we should make war over it? Start a Supreme Court lawsuit? Maybe, Congress should draft a 600 page bill, deliberate it for 2 months and then can it.

Of course I am kidding.

Ha, Ha, good one bud! And doesn't "united" offend all the dissenters? If "political correctness" is carried to its
(il)logical conclusion, pretty soon we won't be able to say a damned thing! So much for the First Amendment, huh?

(lol) That's a good question, but it shouldn't really offend legless people, as long as they love their country i guess (they can still fall).

I guess it should not. I'm sure it wasn't the intent to exclude Americans who are not able to stand.
