I want to purchase a new phone something like a Nokia 7370 but I'm not sure if it will work in my area. I have Cingular/AT&T but I'm a little confused on how I could find out.

The Nokia 7370 is currently used in Asia especially when the phone is sold in Nokia Singapore and is not available for service here in the United States. This phone is a GSM phone.
What you can do however is to find a "unlocked GSM phone" Nokia 7370. Once it is unlocked then the phone can be used with Cingular (A T&T), T-Mobile and Nextel. All you do is to put your sim card on the back of this phone and it will work like a regular cell phone.
Check ebay for this model Nokia 7370 unlocked phones to see if they have any available.

HEY!! Get the NOKIA 7373 its the better version of the 7370 and it has the two bands necesary to work on CingularATT. i am sure it will work in your area. yu can like search on ebay or a cellphone sit online and they might have it there.
