"The average age to get your period is 12 1/2, but some girls get their periods as early as 9, while others don't start until they are 16. If you're 16 and you still haven't started menstruating, that's the time to go see a gynecologist, who will be able to tell you what's going on."

The first time you get your period I don't think you get cramps I could be wrong. But maybe this means that your period is on its way. Although I do think it's time to see a doctor.

All the experts say that if a girl hasn't had a period by age 16, she needs to go to a doctor.

all girls are different. i myself had my first period at 14 but i know of friends who had them at 10. if you turn 18 and still haven't had your period then you should definetly go to a doctor.

Check with your OB/Gyn. I myself didn't start till I was 16. Talk to your mom and make and appointment. Don't freak out. It's more common then you think.
