yes u do need to tell him.the sooner the better.the longer u wait the harder it will get to tell him and the more you wait,the longer he will want to be with u.

Durh. Yeah, you tell him. You tell him as soon as you can. He will be hurt. He may need some time. You should take some time, but if you truly are friends, that will be what comes of you two.
I hate when guys do this.

thats hard be honest its better than going out with him and having to find out you didnt like him after you tell him you will probably feel bad:(
