The best is when you are allowed to consult with the customer and provide the best answer, which may include not buying and going somewhere else - they will come back the next time.
The worst is when you are expected to lie and bury faults, redirect the customer to overstocked or over priced products and get the sale no matter what.

I think the worst has to be the commision only pay jobs. Also, door to door sales. The best I guess would be when people come to you to buy something.
