I have an area around my back porch that would really benefit from some crawling ivy (I need to create some cover for a slatted wall).

Any recommendations on a good creeping ivy-type of plant that will thrive in a low light area? (Light heavily diffused from the trees directly above.)

I think my all time fav is Virginia creeper. It will creep along the ground and climb walls, trees, whatever. It has a beautiful leaf structure and is lovely shade of green during the summer and turns red in Autumn. Mine is growing in almost pure shade.

English ivy will work but keep in mind its very invasive and like most ivy it can get out of control if not kept trimmed
