What are some good Vacation spots in the U.S.? I know about California and Florida, but what is something different?

Arizona and Utah would be nice and they have some great national parks. However, I would go to Northwest Wyoming. Start in Jackson Hole and explore the Grand Tetons. Its an awesome place that is a classic scene out of the old west. Then head up to Yellowstone National Park. The scenery will take your breath away, the geysers will impress you, and the wildlife is some of the best on the planet. There is something for everyone here. There are grand hotels to relax in, a lake for fishing trips, and plenty of trails for hiking and horseback riding. You can see grizzly and black bears, wolves, coyotes, elk, moose, antelope, and bison just to name a few creatures. Visit www.yellowstone.net to help plan your trip. Also make sure you visit the discussion forum there to see pictures, reports, and get advice from regular park visitors. It is a magical place you will never forget and immediately want to go back to. There is something about Yellowstone that gets inside of you.

It depends what you are looking for, of course. One trip we took was a circle that started and ended at Las Vegas, and also included the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce. In a week we saw nature's best work and mankind's monuments (especially if you include Hoover Dam, which we did).
For scenic wonders, Utah is a particular treasure chest. Monument Valley, Arches, Canyonlands and Salt Lake City (a really beautiful place) are all there.
