There is a couple of ways ot get rid of moles and shrews that tunnel through your yards. The first lesson is that the moles are there because there is food there for them. They generally eat grubs and earthworms that live underneath the soil in your yards. First option if your not against spraying a insecticide in your yard is to spray to kill off the grubs and worms and then the moles will leave due to lack of food. Another option . which is a little more expensive but works well is to buy some Castor bean pellets that you should be able to order through a local garden supply store or local nursery and just apply it in the yard like fertilize. It will work for a year at a time and the castor bean has an odor that you really can't smell but the moles and shrews just can't stand and they will move away from the areas in which this is applied. However when you do this you may make your neighbors mad as they will probably move to their yards but they want be in yours any longer though.

An old method of getting rid of these little tunneling pests is to spread castor oil over the lawn.... This kills the grubs, which the moles are feeding on (and the moles don't like the taste any better than we do, lol). You can also find pesticides at your local nursery, hardware, or building supply store that will do this. Get rid of their food, and they will go elsewhere.

Good Luck

You may need to get rid of the bugs in the lawn they are eating. I have heard they like to eat grubs, and Japanese beetles larvae in the lawn. You can get a lawn treatment to spread on the lawn.
I have three cats that like to catch the moles.
