5. Americans!

It would all depend on you and what your interest are. There are many natural wonders in the United States like the Grand Canyon but you might want to see what mankind has done with what God created.

The top destination in the USA is Orlando, Florida based on the number of visitors each year.

If I had to pick 5 places to visit in the US and could travel anywhere in the country I chose, I would suggest:

California....Northern and Southern. the difference between Los Angeles and San Francisco is amazing and they are both in the same state. Some of the National Parks in our fair state are likewise amazing, like Yosemite National Park. the coastline is also amazing!

Nevada...Las Vegas is unlike anything anywhere in the world period. Love it or hate it is is one of a kind! The Entertainment capital of the world.

New York......New York City, the Big Apple. Again, one of a kind and 8 million people can't be all wrong?

Washington, D.C. The capital of our country and a city that our history is reflected.

It is a huge country with so many wonderful spots. Hard to pick but I truly think that this would give you a look at our country.

In no particular order...

1. Manhattan. Civilization surrounds you.
2. Glacier National Park. It really does feel like the top of the world.
3. Washington. History comes alive.
4. Kauai (Hawaii) -- Stunning, particularly along the Na Pali Coast.
5. Yosemite National Park -- Simply amazing.

If taking a foreigner here, I might think about Philadelphia, for a course on how the country began. You could substitute Grand Canyon; Zion National Park; San Francisco; Monument Valley; Yellowstone without much argument.

There is an easy way to see some great places. Fly into Phoenix, Arizona. Drive up to the Grand Canyon. Then into Utah to see Bryce, Zion, and other national parks. Keep going to Salt Lake, then to Wyoming to see Jackson Hole, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone. Then if you want, make the trip up to Glacier National Park, then to the closest airport to head home.
