they like to hide during the day. As soon as you go to bed she'll be awake and all over the place. some nights, i turn the light off and pretend i'm not there. After about 5 minutes, she's moving about all over the place and even climbing the glass.

You didn't say anything about it's enclosure. What is the temperature like? If you don't have any heat on it and you have air conditioning, then the snake could be too cold, get a thermometer. You didn't say how old the snake is. If it is a baby, they hide alot because it is safer for them in nature. Do you handle your snake often? This can also help with shyness. Is the light on it's cage really bright? That could also keep them from wanting to move about. Snakes like to hide, that is how they capture prey. They usually only move to 1. Find food or water 2. Move to a different temperature or 3. Find a mate. Much of the rest of their time is spent lying in ambush, waiting for a meal.

He may become more outgoing. Snakes need a place to hide to feel secure. It's not a big deal.
