sounds like a smart girl to me. , if the wireless net work she is connecting to is unsecured then she is legal.if the network is secured and she is still connecting to it then she got the password some how either guessed it hacked it or they give it to her. easiet way to tell is when u are connecting to a wireless netwrk it will show secured or unsecured. really aint a way to secure the neighbors network unless u go ask them to. u can disable the wireless card on the laptop but how ever she smartt enough to connect to a wireless signal then she is smart enuff to enable the wirless card. good luck, now u can block websites via a parental control and she will have to have a pass word to view certain websites but as long as she isnt doing anything badon the net. dont worry aout it. like said if the netwoirk is unsecured then its not illegal. and it would be hard for them to trace it down to whom is actually sharing the network.

Not unless you have administrative access to her laptop - you could shut off access from the Network Connections under the Control Panal.

You should inform her that it's the same thing as stealing; but if the person who has that wifi isn't putting a password on it; they deserve it. It's like having a house without a door. Anyone can get in so you better put a door on it if you want to protect it.

A. Take the laptop away.

B. Contact whichever neighbor that has the unprotected wireless router and tell them that their internet connection is being tapped into and they need to apply a password to it. Better yet, tell them that your daughter is conducting illegal activities using their internet connection and that the police will soon trace these activities back to them.

you can either disable the wireless reciever by (if you have a HP laptop) pressing the wireless button until the blue light turns off or (as long as ypu have windows) click on the start menu in windows, go to connect to, then show all connections. in the show all connections area look for the one that says wireless network connection right click it and select disable. if that doesnt work either take the laptop away or wait until the person discovers your laptop on their network and blocks the laptop fromconnecting to it again

Disable the wirless function on the laptop. This can be done in the setup (BIOS) or in the My Network Places.

First I would talk to her and ask her not to use it. If that fails, remove the temptation for a period of time...
