I am watching Swept Away, with Madonna. It was directed by her husband, Mr Madonna. I cannot think of a worse, more fifth rate, dismal, putrid piece of sh*t film in history, and I am only twenty minutes in. This film redefines bad. They have to invent more words for 'bad' just to describe it. I could eat alphabetti spaghetti and vomit a better script. I've seen better, more convincing acting on The Tellytubbies. Madonna looks like a bulldog chewing on a wasp. They just broke for an commercial for a diarrhoea cure and it's brilliant by comparison. This film is the pits. Can anyone top it?

I have seen Swept Away and your description is entirely accurate, and perhaps even a little generous. However, Swept Away can be beaten in the Shytte Film Stakes, but only just. Battlefield Earth, with John Travolta. If the ridiculous Scientology subplot doesn't make you scream with laughter then the makeup job on Travolta will. What he he supposed to be? A bigfoot with male pattern baldness? He looks like Chewbacca in bondage gear. The plot is equally risible - the good guys find three thousand year old jet fighters, and jump in, start 'em up, and fly into battle. Yes, you would find fully servicable, fuelled and armed jet fighters sitting about the place after three thousand years. No worries, there. I could go on but it's like kicking a sick puppy. Get it out on DVDA and have a shufti for yourself, but be warned - you might be tempted to bite your own ears off half way in, just to get out of watching it all the way through.

Okay, I've seen it too and topping it may be hard....I would say Striptease with Demi Moore and Showgirls with Elizabeth Berkley are top ten contenders but I don't think they top the s**t list. I think that honour does go to Swept Away. He's some more Madonna 'gems' though, Body of Evidence, Shanghai Surprise and Who's That Girl. You have a way with words by the way!

The original Swept Away, directed by Italian filmmaker Lina Wertmueller, is a whole different matter. I highly recommend it. Madonna was a fool to think she could play this role.

I've never seen that, but the movie that had Britney Spears on it was pretty bad. I can't even remember the name, and not willing to look up that movie, because I just remember the horrible acting and story.

It is truly an offense to all who have the unfortunate displeasure of coming into contact with it. Step away from the TV. It's not too late to save yourself !!

No. But after reading your description of this movie I now want to watch it oddly enough. You are hilarious!
