A couple of years ago, a bear in the area repeatedly came out of the woods, picked a pile of avocados out of these people's yard, then got in their hot tub and proceeded to eat them. He came there so often and wouldn't go away so animal control caught him and put him in the zoo (poor little bear) Now every Easter they hide avocados all over his play area and he comes out and finds them and enjoys a glorious day gorging on avocados. They show him on TV every year.

Garbage cans, bird feeders and pet food dishes are "fast food stands" for bears. Although their favorite meals are berries and grubs, bears will eat anything that's handy!
But I like the "bear claws" answer! Thanks for the smile!
