We will be putting all our signs up when we close tonight as it starts at 6am tomorrow.
Smoke wardens will be doing their rounds with hidden cameras and you won't know who they are unless you are caught smoking. They will then take your picture and issue you with an on the spot fine and also fine the designated smoking supervisor of the pub.
I do smoke but think it could all have been handled better and while I do agree with non-smokers about their health issues and the smell, surely smokers could have been given a separate room instead of being pushed outside in all weathers.
We don't exactly get great weather here do we?

If they ban smoking in bars then people will probably stop going to them. Most drinkers (especially heavy drinkers) are also smokers and if they can’t smoke in the bars they will just stay at home. Also if smoking is banned everywhere then what will the non smokers have to complain about? How will they feel high and mighty and good about themselves? They will have to come to terms with stuff that is a lot more hazardous to their health and environment than second hand smoke; car exhaust, fast food and power plants that run their electricity just to name a few.

I don't think there should be a ban. The government is already telling us what we can and can't do things. I stopped smoking 1 1/2 years ago but it is not my resposibility to tell people to stop smoking. I doubt anyone out there that smokes doesn't know what it can do to you. It is your life and you take the risks. I won't tell people not to smoke, not to drink, not to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, that is up to each of us. We should have the right to make our own choices.

Can you imagine not being able to smoke in bars anymore? What about wintertime? Can you take your drink outside with you when you smoke, or do you have to leave in the bar for someone to roofie? This makes me sad...

Probably! I just try to be considerate of my fellow non-smokers so hopefully it won't be too terrible. Gotta say, bars will definitely lose some business!
