We were at taco bell (ok sounds like a setting for a bad joke, i know) which i know of course isnt authentic food at all, but anyways, & my dad kept on pronouncing guacamole wrong, i kept on correcting him (he pronounced the g.) I must of had to correct him 12 times during our dining there. Then they messed up our order, charging us for several guacamole orders when we only ordered one. (to be continued.........)

My dad started going insane by screaming about how the order is wrong, & while doing so, he kept on pronouncing guacamole wrong (with a g sound), in the midst of his screaming, i kept on correcting him, with him not listening, I was embarrassed of my dads lack of ability to pronounce guacamole right, even with me correcting him (his screaming cant be helped) I told my dad this and he said "Its my right as an American to pronounce guacamole the way it should be pronounced: with a g." WTF? isnt that crazy? Then he said "You know, I can also say that Spanish is stupid for not pronouncing guacamole "right" I told him that was racist and said, through all my 5 ft 2' might "dont you dare say that again" to him. how can he become racist when hes mad, when hes normally so cute and cuddly?

Honey, said in love and respect to you, Americans have been mispronouncing Spanish words for generations, and you kind of did over react by correcting his pronunciation. I am sure the person taking his order knew what he was saying. And, sorry to break this to you, but... The hard "g" sound is actually pronounced when it is in front of a "u"(My stepgrandmother was Puerto Rican, and my mother was a Spanish teacher and is a missionary to Peru, and is very fluent in Spanish...)
Your Dad was wrong for saying what he did, but he was trying to make a point. I think he was bugged because the little girl whose diapers he used to change was correcting him, and, quite honestly and no disrespect-correcting him incorrectly.
I am anti-racist, too, but in this case, you were being a bit overly sympathetic and sensitive.
Sorry! Hope I didn't hurt ya.

Sounds like dear old Dads, wound a bit to tight. OK, so they got the order wrong, IT HAPPENS, so he cannot pronounce a certain word, again, it happens, I mean lets look at BUSH, the leader of the free world, you know AKA Captain mispronunciation!

The only thing he did prove ... He has NO self control, and no respect for people he may get poor treatment/service the next time he goes in there. The manager can also ask him to leave! Your Dad might want to seek Anger Management classes!

Why is that people feel they can go to a fast food place and treat those people that work there like dogs? Have you ever worked at a fast food place, has your Dad? Its killer work. That's what I want to know.

Cute and cuddly or not, you had no business correcting your father in public. Show some respect. I have no doubt the mistake came from both of you repeating the word a dozen times and he became angry because he was embarrassed about the whole matter. Is the world going to end if your dad says it with a "g"? Honestly, grow up, leave the man alone and find something else to worry about.

Its kinda like that old saying a drunk man tells no tales. Well an angry man tells no tales. He is just saying whats on his mind. He isnt racist though, he doesnt actually believe his race is superior to others. He is a bigot. I think all of us subconsiously have a little bigot in us, which is fine until you spread your beliefs everywhere.

Anger...you were right...
Anger alienates humans, making them not able to repress their animal pulses, making them regret to an animal state.

You should read Seneca's De ira (On Anger), a ancient Roman stoic philosopher.
I am not good in translating Latin into English (that is not my mother tongue) but I'll try to translate you a little passage:

"Fight against yourself: if you want to win the struggle against the anger, the anger must not beat you. You start to win if anger hides and you don't give it an opportunity to escape. We have to hide it's traces and try, as much as we can, to keep it hidden and closed. That is hard to do: anger wants to escape, burning in our eyes, changing our facial expression, but if we let anger escape, anger control us. We have to lock it in the bottom of our heart. Anger must be moved and mustn't move us. We have to change all it's pulses with opposite pulses: our facial expression must became relaxed,
our voice sweeter, our step slowly, uniforming our internal condition with external appearance"

Seneca De ira, III 13. 1-2 ( http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/sen/sen.ira3.shtml it starts with "Pugna tecum ipse)

Edit
About correcting your father: You have the moral right to correct him wherever you are, whenever he is wrong.
It's ridicolous that in 2007 we still think that we must respects our parents because they are always right...it's false...parents are humans and as all humans do, they makes lot of mistakes. If i had hear all my parent's advices i would become an evil person (but they are unable to distinguish the evil from the good, so in their mind, they were teaching me the good)...We had lots of quarrels but after that they understood their errors, becoming better persons...
Anyway, our "mission" is to make other better person, teaching them the truth (but this "truth" mustn't be a personal opinion).

You are who you are. No such thing as an occasional racist, a mild racist, or isolated racist behavior. Dad may not let his TRUE colors shine all day long, but they're still just as bright!!!!!!!!
