The most likely reason is you put it in the wrong category. Next most likely is you wrote it so poorly (misspellings or one long boring paragraph) that people gave up on reading it. Final possibility is no one really cares about the question (or at least no one who was looking when it was posted).
Think over one you really want an answer to. Then jot down a few alternative ways to say it. Go with the most provocative and catchy. Look over the categories and choose the best fit there. Good luck after that.

My answers seem to stop at about 10 to 15 almost all the time,even on popular issues.

Perhaps, it is the Yahoo Answers guru that is trying to let you know that 10 is your lucky number. Try it. You never know what great things in your life are centered around that number.

It depends on the questions you ask, never put a long question takes to long to read they get lost on translation and never ones that are serious. keep them short and funny and you will get a lot of answers.

You are probably just asking at the wrong time. I get on average 8 or 20+ depending on what time I am on at.

depends on the category you are in, the interest of the question and the length of it. Some folks don't want to read long stories and will skip those. And if your heading doesn't sound interesting, some will just skip you over and not even look at your complete question.

it about the timing ur putting ur question up and if ur question is understandable, and sometimes u need to put the question in category it seem to be popular with people like the poll and survey is very popular.
