a - b = -9 - 9 = - 18

So, (a - b)^2 = (- 18)^2 = 324

If you meant (a - b)2, it will be - 36

(a - b)2
= 2[(-9)-(9)]
= 2[-18]
= -36

If it was a typo and you meant (a-b)², then

(a-b)²
= [(-9)-(9)]²
= [-18]²
= 324
