I really enjoyed Wales ( I was living in Enlgand and was going on a trip there and most people said..."oh...Wales....ok", but I was very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it 100times more than Brighton which was talked up by the same people!)

There are lots of castles around the place...we visited the Cardiff one and Caeserphilly....or something like that...its close to Cardiff and again thought it was quite cool.

We drove around the Mumbles ( in the pouring rain) and the Gower Penisular ( with more castles) and found the area lovely, with lots of sea views, sheep scattered everywhere ( hey I'm from New Zealand, we have lots of sheep too...I can hassle them for it too) and rolling hillsides..

I enjoyed Cardiff more than Swansea....it has a nice realxed feel, has lots more history than I thought and has a few things that are nice to see.

I would have loved to have gone into northern Wales where I hear its lovely and more rugged that the south which has more people etc.

hi! if you go to wales, you really have a choice between 3 things:
1) beaches
2) countryside
3)towns/cities.

It depends on what you want to do. if you want a quiet holiday, then Wales is good for you. however, if you want nightlife, then the only major cities are swansea and cardiff.

If you like beaches and camping, then i suggest you go to the Gower Penninsula, it's in South Wales only 20 miles from Swansea. There are Campsites at Port Eynon and Rhossili, and others too.
If you are interested in the Gower, go to Wikipedia.com and type in Gower.

Cardiff is the best bet for shopping, but that's about it. Bridgend (South Wales) designer outlet has many discount-price shops.

If you like wandering through hills and walking and horse-holidays, then mid Wales is the best place to go. For example the Brecon Beacons.

If you are planning to go on a caravan holiday, then North Wales has a lot of caravan sites, as does the Gower.

If you are interested in quiet, slow paced holidays, then the extreme West of Wales is a good choice, like St.Davids.

Hope this helped!

A whole country, many towns with a different feel each.
Beautiful countryside, ranging from coast and swamps to mountains. And the mountains are different in the North form the South.
Many castles and churches as well as picturesque villages.
Walking and other outdoor sports are well known, there are also several different musical festivals, culture like literature and so on.
Check with google on your own kind of fun.
