i imagine you mean:

(x-3)/3 + (x-3)/4 = 7/24

if so, the method you should try is:

multiply each of the three terms first by 3:

(x - 3) + (x - 3)3/4 = 7 / 8

then multiply each term by 4:

4(x-3) + 3(x-3) = 7 / 2

now multiply out and solve for x

The way it is written, it is really confusing.

x - 3 + x - 3 = 2x - 6

So, if u meant

(2x - 6) / 3424 = 7

2x - 6 = 3424 x 7

2x = 3424 x 7 + 6

If on the other hand, you meant

x/3 - 3/4 + x/2 - 3/4 = 7

x/3 + x/2 = 7 - 3/2= 11/2

5x / 6 = 11/2

10x = 66

x = 66/10 = 6.6 or 33/5

So, writing the problem clearly is important.
