I am 15 and want to become a Neurosurgeon or study Neurological procedures and/or possibly become a doctor or maybe earn a PhD in it.
I did not pick biology as a subject and are thinking of crashing biology in my last year of high school

For this year I take:

I take Physics and Chemistry as well as Modern Studies (to do with politics) all at higher level. I am doing Maths and English at Intermediate 2.

For my Last year I hope to take:

Technalogical studies - Higher (crash)
Biology - Higher (Crash)
Maths - Higher
English - Higher
Modern Studies - Advanced Higher

I am hoping to get all "A's" in them.

Is it too late or am I not intelligent enough to go to Harvard or Yale.

The Scottish education system did not tell me of the potential I had to become something that would be worthwhile. I feel as though my education and life are being wasted.
Please help me as I desperatly want this job in the future and go to this University.
My SG grades: 6 Creds & 2 Gen

Everybody thinks I have a high IQ and but have not taken the test(s) and go to a psychologist because I have emotional problems - I took a test on the internet and the highest I could score was 131 IQ.

Did I just waste my life?

You have your whole life ahead of you and plenty of time to get the education you need to become a doctor in the field you desire. No you are not wasting your life. Your life has barely begun. I went to college at age 62 and I am thinking about going back and taking an art course for computer science. You are never to old to learn. You have a wonderful chance of fulfilling your dream. Just keep going as you are and you will accomplish what you desire.

Yes, you still have a chance. Be sure in your application essay to talk about all the challenges you've faced, and how much you want to learn about neurology.

But you also need a backup plan. Harvard and Yale get hundreds of applications from highly qualified students for every available place.

If you want to go to school in the US, there are many fine Universities that could start you on the road to the career you dream of. Do some research online to decide which ones to apply to.

In the meantime, keep working hard. And don't worry about the IQ test. That's a pretty high score, and lots of people do just fine at University who are not as smart as you.

Good luck.

I assume from the things you write that you are in Scotland, and obviously wouldn't be expected to go to an international school anyway. I have no way of knowing if you are intelligent enough to go to Harvard or Yale (they don't ask you for your IQ, just your SAT score and your grades), but what concerns me more is that you say you have emotional problems, and being that far from home with emotional problems could potentially be a problem. You can go onto their websites and look at their admissions requirements, and you can probably apply, but if I were you I would think hard about going that far at this point in your life. You can always get a degree in the U.K. and apply to those schools for medical school or a Ph.D. program later on, if your life is in better order at that time.

ok, I don't get it. You are only 15 why do you think you have wasted your life? Your life is only just beginning and you can become anything you want to become. Geez it's not like your 70, you're 15!!! You sound like an intelligent person so if you want to go to Yale or whatever, just do the best you can in school to make straight A's and become involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. You have to go to high school first (or whatever they call it in Scotland) before you can go to college so why do you think you've wasted your life? Maybe you just need to mature a little.

If you are indeed 15 you are very bright and Yale or harvard should be a walkover for you. If not this year, try again next year. Not sure what the age requirements are.
