I do not vaccinate my children. I cannot reconcile injecting my children with harmful substances that are not tested for carcinogenic and mutagenic properties, or effects of fertility. Vaccines contain many questionable things: Aluminum, mercury, formaldehyde, phenols, msg, human diploid cells, and many more. I told my sons first pediatrician that we were not vaccinating me and he flipped out, began lying to me and insulting me, and then fired my son from his practice. My sons current pediatrician is wonderful. She respects my choice to not vaccinate my sons and does not insult me for my decision.
http://www.909shot.com is a wonderful resource. Also, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Childhood Vaccinations" by Stephanie Cave.
Trace metals have not been removed from vaccines. The previous people may be thinking of the assumption that mercury has been removed from vaccines, which is not true. The use of mercury has been reduced, but not yet eliminated.

Point: You will have more trouble with the health department (which is state run and federal government funded) because you can't logically deal with anyone from the government - they all are trying to take YOUR rights away as a parent.
You will have better luck (and unfortunately more money) by dealing with a private practice. Even better if you take the time and find a doctor that leans toward the natural ways. If you need help finding one, call a chiropractic office in your area. They are a great source of information!
For my biological children, all I had to do is quote 'religious reasons' and most backed off. (this is good for schools too). I had a couple that persisted, but eventually backed off.
YOU HAVE TO STICK TO YOUR GUNS!
I had a girlfriend whose doctor refused to be the baby's doctor if the baby did not recieve the shots. My girlfriend would not bend to the black mail and found another doctor who was more parent active friendly.
Quick note:
On the other hand, with my soon to be adopted children, it is state law that while they are wards of the state, I have to get them vaccinated. My doctor worked with me, and in stead of getting the shots all at once (like the MMR) we got them separate. You see, with the MMR, it is the mercury that helps stablize the three to be mixed together - and it is the mercury that causes the trouble.
Get separate shots, on separate occasions. Pain in the butt, but it will be worth it in the long run, especially since you know you have done all you can to prevent autisum in your child!
Some whinny people will say "But you are causing more pain to make the child go through three separate shots in stead of all at once". BULL HOCKEY. What would you rather deal with? Aurguing with doctors and spending more money, OR dealing with the guilt of knowing you COULD have prevented your child's pain and suffering the rest of their natural born life?
NOW, some doctors will tell you that they no longer have the mercury based shots on their shelves. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM - ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN A SMALL TOWN ... THE SHOTS MOVE SLOWER THAN IN A CITY.
(I learned that trick from a class that I took on how to protect yourself from vaccination happy doctors).
Good Luck
and if I have any mis spelled words - the spell check did not do it's thing!

None of the vaccines used in the US have trace metals in them. They have not been used in at least the last 5-10 years.
Not vaccinating a child leaves them more open to diseases and conditions worse than any possible side effect, and the worst-case senario side effects are extremely rare.
These are some reliable websites:
www.aap.org - The American Academy of Pediatrics
www.who.org - The World Health Organization
www.cdc.gov - The Centers for Disease control and prevention.
These will provide you accurate information that is widely accepted and used by the medical community as a whole so that you can research (or ask specifics if you don't find what you're looking for) the information and make the most informed decision you can make. You owe it to yourself and your child to make an informed decision.

evaluations are beside the point. info ARE appropriate, so a great way the human beings who declare vaccines are not risk-free have failed in each and every attempt to assist their place with easily info that hasn't been shown to be completely incorrect. greater greater no longer getting toddlers vaccinated places the everyday public in possibility. there are specific cases the place the two a individual isn't able to be vaccinated, using ailment, or has yet to be vaccinated, those persons are completely based on heard immunity, using fact maximum of people are vaccinated its no longer selection probable that the unvacinated might have issues. yet while father and mom start up letting their thoughts get the greater efficient of them, and reject vaccinations, we see toddlers getting ailments that are meant to get vaccinated against, and spreading those ailments to those that could no longer get vaccinated.

Vaccines no longer have trace metals or anything like that in them anymore, but if you choose, you can do a delayed schedule on the vaccines, or not do them at all. If you chose not to do vaccines at all, some doctors require you sign a waiver, and some public schools require a waiver for them as well. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you find a doctor that supports your decision.
I've personally given my son all of his vaccines on time, and he hasn't had any problems, but then again I don't have a history of severe allergies in my family (neither does my husband). His doctor on the other hand has had to not give one of her son's vaccines because he's allergic to eggs.
Try looking at this site for some more info on vaccinations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccination

Register and you can search the forum, instead of asking a question that may have already been answered.
Take each illness we vaccinate for and learn everything about it, one by one... whether you are planning to get the vaccine, or not, its good to be informed (as vaccines are not 100%).
The women on that board are full of info, links and book titles to check out.
Good luck, it's a long journey... but it's one worth taking!
(side note: Thermerisol is still used in the manufactoring of vaccines, they filter *most* of it out before sending the finished product out, but they still contain trace amounts)

I haven't given my children (3) any of the vaccines. I know countless people where their children have gotten severe reactions. My cousins friends daughter had a reaction to the MMR and is now severely handicapped, she was a healthy baby beforehand. A friend of mine's baby was 22 months old and had a bad reaction to a vaccine and is now severely mentally disabled. Between 98-00, 78 babies died directly following vaccination. There is actually a fund set up from Congress to compensate families for vaccine related side-effects. Too many people just believe Doctors to make decisions for them instead of actually looking into it themselves. Children under 14 are actually 3 times more likely to die from the Hep B vaccine or side effects that the disease itself...these statistics speak for themselves, you just have to find them.

Vaccines no longer contain any trace metals/thermisol. It ought to be criminal to not get your children vaccinated. The diseases vaccines prevent are many, many, many more times more likely to harm your child than the vaccines themselves, which are extremely safe. Many parents who choose not to get their children vaccinated out of deep ignorance are stunned when their babies are hospitalized (or worse) from pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella or many of the countless other dangerous diseases that are ON THE RISE TODAY and completely preventable. Get your children vaccinated on the schedule that your pediatrician recommends...don't fall for bogus, Internet-based pseudo-science perpetuated by the ignorant.

A website is not always your very best source of information. ANYONE can type ANYTHING they want to and make up lots of phoney stuff and put it on the Internet.
If you truly have concerns - please ask your own doctor for the references and not anonymous people on the Internet - because you never know who is on the other side of the keyboard.
