I want to take the degree worldwide, especially to London. I was just curious as to how it is seen across the globe and domestically. Is the university worth the money? If I am going to be spending loads of cash on my education the degree better be worth it. Is Vanderbilt the school for me?

Vanderbilt is actually a very strong school and has an excellent reputation in the U.S., but its location works against it a bit when it comes to overseas reputation. The U.K. is most familiar with universities on the East Coast, followed by those in the Bay Area and Chicago; the South hasn't really made it onto their radar screens in a meaningful way.

It's a good school, but it always depends on the program. What kind of degree are you getting that you think it might not be worth it? Humanities? Liberal arts? Probably not. Engineering? Physics? Medicine? You need a degree for those fields, you can't get by without one.

Excellent school, great economics program. If you want to go to London, try a UK school, especially Imperial College or London School of Economics if you can get admitted, or one of the other U London schools, Warwick, Nottingham, Leeds, Durham. Good luck...
