What is the origin of it?Is it offensive to the police?

I have heard it on several rap records recently so maybe it's 'ghetto speak' of some kind?

I've heard it tons and its used lots in the south to let folks know the police are coming through. I'm not sure of the origin of it though.

I have never heard of the police being referred to as "one time", ever. Take caution in what you hear on a rap album. I don't know what they're referring to half of the time, although some of it is catchy.

I doubt it would be offensive, considering some of the other terms they have for police on rap albums though.
