One could say that life IS a bridge. There is no "between" who one is now, & who they will be. Of what we are capable, the things you mentioned & far, far more, are on that bridge.Think of it as the arc of a rainbow.

I don't think there is a bridge; there is only being. The
alteration of the world within an interval is not predictably
proportional. In other words, the magnitude in alteration of
the world in the next 0.001 seconds might be equivalent
to the magnitude in alteration of the world in the next
1 millennia. There is a fine line between present and
future, and if an individual invests too much time in
examining it then the moment is lost to the past.
Therefore, the bridge crosses the individual, not
the individual crosses the bridge; be who you want
to be and you will be.

From my experience I believe the greatest obstacle to overcome in our efforts to become our more "Ideal self" is fear. Fear of Failure, pain, attention, being alone etc.. What fear or fears hold us back are legion and ever changing. Sometimes it takes great effort just to recognize what we are afraid of.
Once we can identify and accept our fear we can move through and around it to move forward with our goals.
When I was around 15 I had a vision while meditating. I saw myself age back and forth from a baby to an old man, then from before my birth to past my death. It freaked me out quite a bit and I only began to understand its meaning in my late 20's.
I am all I have ever been or ever will be right now.
I must travel the path of my life to experience the journey but the totality of who I am is complete. To many this philosophy seems like semantic gibberish but I find it grounding and supportive. I no longer feel a need to measure up to who I want to be. I instead look forward to the journey of discovering who I am.
It would take a book to fill out this concept but I think you can get the gist of it.
Good Travels

Commitment. Persistence. Determination.
No matter how much talent or potential you have, if you're not willing to go for it, if you're not willing to keep trying even when it's hard, you will not meet your potential.
Easy for me to say. I give things a half a$$ed effort & then give up. Who knows what I could have been if I really threw myself into something 100% instead of trying a little then moving on to something else...(Oops thinking out loud again...)

understanding who we are now will be the biggest factor in this. If you don't know who you are now then there will be real difficulty in finding where, and who you should be. Trusting in what ever faith you have will be necessary to maintain the strength of character in oder to find the track you need to stay on. I have faith in God, this allows me to be strong and trust that what I pray about is what will come about. Seeing your destination is very important, having the fuel to get there is even more important.

I believe it is desire.
51% of sucessful people WANT to BECOME WHO THEY ARE and DO SO BECAUSE OF THAT 1% EXTRA PUSH.
The other 49% may have desire, they may talk about it, but they just don't have the push to DO anything about it. Truth be told...and we all know how painful the truth is....
what keeps them from that 1% is laziness.

I think it's lack of self-confidence and laziness that prevent us to become whom we want and can be. Of what we are capable? We can do everything! We are godlike, but don't fully realize that.

Psycology tells us our mind opperates on basis of goals. You realise where you are or your state of being, and then you decide how you want to be. And then you will start on that path ;)
