Hello! I have a small glitch that I am hoping will be really easy to fix! I have been adding items to my shop for years with no problem, when suddenly, 3 days ago I have been unable to get the small images to upload to the site via the add item page. I can add the item to the shop - but all I get as an image is the red x in a white box. My site went live 4 years ago, and not much has been changed 'back stage' since then. Could this be a problem? Is updating complicated?

I did not create the site myself, my father did it before he died...I can add items and do general 'admin' stuff, but all this talk of source code and allsorts is beyond my knowledge.

Any pointers would be appreciated, please!

Thank you

Red X in white box means the program does not FIND the image. Several possible reasons:
- You have NOT uploaded the image.
- You have uploaded the image in a wrong directory.
- The image is not of the type required. Some systems will only allow a certain type of images to be uploaded, such as jpg or gif etc... When you upload the image, make sure the extention (ie. .jpg) is correct.
- The extension of the image is UPPERCASE (.JPG) when it should be lowercase. On *unix systems, img.jpg is NOT equal to img.JPG. Your image maker may have set extention uppercase (paint does this if you use the default).

Check with images that uploaded and show normally.

Perhaps there's a problem with the new image(s) you're uploading. Try uploading an image that's previously worked. Then at least you can tell if it's a problem with the image, or something else.

One reason this can happen is if your pc does not have a required resource like Java enabled, check if others can see the images. Also check with the isp that they have not changed anything on their servers.
