Zeewolde is a new 'poldertown' and mostly a commutertown; most people living there are working either in Amsterdam/Utrecht or Amersfoort.
Family oriented and not too 'booming' that is for sure.
As said in one of the answers before this one: if you like the quiet kinda lifestyle you will love it- housing swise thare are some amazing new BEAUTIFUL projects with beautiful detached houses right on the water. But pricy of course.
i live in another 'poldertown' and it is VERY quiet but that is the reason why I moved here as i wa skinda tired of the citynoises. Of course there is the horrible traffic to beat everyday going to work but hey; it is a choice.
So good luck.
ps Oh yes Zeewolde is not too far away from SIX FLAGS WALIBI (the rollercoastpark of Holland)...

It is a new town, now about 20 years old for the oldest part, I think.
I have not been there in many years, but it is not known as a lively town.
My friend who lives there is pleased with the town, she said that there are a lot of shops by now, as well as some places to go for dinner.
And a wide range of different houses at reasonable prices.
But if you have teens to entertain it is not the best of choices, as they all want to go to the old country for their nights out.
