It was in a damian marley song, i figure its some type of metaphor

"And did you know that the pen is stronger then the knife, they can kill you once, but they can't kill you twice"

My guess is..A pen is used to write words, and a knife is used to kill, and sometimes words can hurt more then pain (explains why the pen is stronger then the knife, since the pen writes words and the knife inflicts pain)

I think the part where he says "they can you kill you once, but they can't kill you twice" Means they can kill you once, but they can't kill you twice (they cant kill you twice because they cannot kill your soul).

What do you think it means? This was my random guess.

It means that once you are killed by the knife you can't be physically killed again, however if you are killed by the pen, meaning in writing in a public manner, you can get killed many times. I.E. Richard Nixon, he died in 1994 physically, but has been killed in the media since his fall from power in 1974
