I have a dell c521 which has a small case so I can't upgrade the power supply so i need a graphics card that would use less than 280 watts of power.

I don't know its actual power requirements, but the GeForce 7600GT maybe? It doesn't even have a separate power connector on the card. They run about $99 on NewEgg nowadays

If not that, probably drop down to the ATI Radeon X1650 series, but that's a noticable performance drop.

Update: From the forum posts I've found it looks like the 7600GT requires a 350w power supply... At least one person said he bought one and it didn't work on his 300w.

So either go with an X1650 Pro, or do a complete migration to a larger case :(

your graphics card can only use what the agp bus or pci bus can supply new bigger graphics card do take extra power but that comes from a molex connector same as you plug into a disk drive or hard drive.

That case will take any ATX power supply on the market, I suggest getting at least a 500watt or better, try:

Not a one uses 280W of power. That would fry most computers in minutes. ~
