Harley's are notoriously slow in comparison to sport bikes, except for the larger modified engines on some specialty bikes. Your average 0-60 for a Harley will be in the mid-5's. Some sport bikes do it in under 3 seconds, so while a Harley might be slow by sport bike standards, they are still quick compared to the average sports car. They have a V-twin motor, which will inherently rev lower than an inline motor. The V-twin concept relies more on higher torque (due to larger volume per piston per liter) to get the grunt to the wheel vs. the inline motor typically has higher horsepower (by revving at higher speeds). Your riding style will determine which one suits you better. The price for a new Harley ranges from about $6000 for a small Sportster to well into the $25,000 + for the top end bikes. Look for average new price to be about $17,000.

That's like saying how fast does a Ford go, doesn't matter if it's a GT40 or an Escort. Dude, if it's speed you are looking for Harley is not the place. Once you grow out of that stage go look at a Harley. If you want performance and low price buy metric.

I ride rice and eat rice. And i do it all while going 70 mph in first gear with 5 more gears still to go. Harleys are slow the revs are slow and the price is insanely high for what you get. If you want a real bike that's worth over 25k Check out an MV agusta or a Bimota.
