Bought it off a dealer for a total of $14,000. 2 months later the lower control arm almost falls off. 4-5 months after that, the airbag light is on, well all the warning lights are on. It has developed a coolant leek. It has developed a power steering fluid leek. I still hear an annoying squeak from the right front of the car, and finally, just as i pull into my driveway from work, the transmission decides it doesnt want to engage any more. I signed an "as is" on the contract. I have since bought a brand new honda, and have been paying booth payments. I still owe $9,000 on the volvo. Now i just cant afford it any more. HELP! Am i screwed?

Lemon laws apply to new vehicles. If I read your question correctly, you bought the Volvo used, and "as is" so the lemon law has nothing to do with it.

If your Volvo was repaired and offered for sale, you might get 8 grand out of it on a good day, so you are upside down.

Guess buying a new car was a bad decision on your part. I don't know what else to tell you.

Sounds like you are out of luck...but mayber not completely.
Try calling Volvo (the factory) and see if there have been any recalls for the problems you have had. Perhaps you can get some reimbursement for any of those.
other than that, you bought a used vehicle. You signed it 'as is'. So you are stuck with it, unfortunately.
Lemon laws are great for new vehicles, but once it's used, there's not much you can do.
Good luck.
Why don;t you sell it as is? Or fix the tranny and then sell it?

Yes. Lemon laws only apply to new cars. Unless you can show the dealer defrauded you, you are stuck with the Volvo.
