not that i cant do it manuelly but it saves me time. plus when there are harder equations i expect to get a simplified answer. i usuaully just enter (1/x) + (1/y) but the answer just ends up being (1/x) + (1/y) again and it doesnt give me it to me in the common denominator form.

maybe i messed up something in my modes? advice?

An x on a graphing calculator has value to it, you can change the value......You can't simplify equations like those on a graphing calculator.

do you want 1 divided by x plus one divided by y???

you need to stat, then edit, and put in your coordinates (x and y values...)

then go back into your calculator and enter the answer and press enter
