No, it is not weird. I enjoy rap and am a white man with no rhythm. Our race, while often influencing our tastes due to the way we have been acculturated, cannot shape them entirely. Also, bear in mind that many of the keystones of rock as we know it have been African American. Jimi Hendrix and Living Colour are just two examples that come to my mind of diverse talent that still reside under the banner of rock, and who have left their imprint on the genre.

Rock on!

No, that's not weird at all. And there are some great black rockers, from Hendrix (of course) to the band Living Colour. These guys were amazing. "Cult of Personality" is a great rock song. Vernon Reid is an amazing guitarist. Check out this link about Living Colour:

No, not at all. Not in my opinion anyways. I think different people just have different tastes in music. Even though most people think that black people listen to nothing but rap and r&b, it's not always the rule. It could be from how you were raised, not saying that people who listen to rap or r&b were raised bad, just saying that maybe you were raised in a neighborhood or school where most people listened to rock music. Rock is awesome music and it's good that you like it :) .

Um. No. I know people of all colors that like music of all kinds. And you know something? We area all the same color on the inside....PINK! So, you are more the same to everyone than different. Plus, Rock and ROll has it's roots in black culture and history if you study the history of Rock music you will find that to be true!

weird, no. there have been several rock artists that weren't white, Jimi Hendrix, the Big Bopper, Byron Davis from God Forbid, Diami Bryant from Locked in a Vacancy. All African America, or at least not white. and all good at making music. so celebrate your taste in music, and broaden your horizons as best you can, for tolerance is what this world needs.

I'm Black and I like rock music more than any other type of music. I don't think it's weird that you take interest in it. I think that its good that music can reach out to more than one group or culture of people. Music doesn't care about the color of the person, it cares about the color of the person's soul.

Nope, not at all. I was in line for Kiss tickets about 15 years ago and had a blast with the guy behind me who happened to be black. You have black singers in metal bands who kick just as much a** as the white guys(oh BTW draconian, everyone except the bass player in God Forbid are black, and he's reffered to as the token white).

If you meant "weird" as "against the norm" than of course it's weird. But who says black people aren't involved with rock? Look at Hendrix and Kravitz.

No, it's not weird. Look at Jimi Hendrix! He was black and he was a fantastic guitarist. Just because you are black doesn't mean you HAVE to listen to rap. I think it's great that you are breaking the stereotype and listening to what YOU want instead of letting society dictate to you what you should listen to.

No..this not weird!!! Race has absolutely nothing to do what kind of music you like. That's a stereotype, that's all.
You can like whatever band you like. It's called freedom of choice and that's what so wonderful about America! =)

Look I'm white ( last time I looked) and I love all types of music. I knew more Latin song titles/band/artists/ than most Latino. All I had to do was drop the names. I grew up listening to 80's...rock..pop..disco...R&B....jazz....latin....soul....soft rock...freestyle...rap...techno.... I grew up listening all that stuff. So NO...race has nothing to do with your likes if music. Good listening!
