My Compaq Presario mod# SR1103WM and prod# PC182A-ABA does not have a port on the hard drive. Can I get a converter or connector from USB port to firewire ilink(IEEE1394)?

If the PC is a "desktop" or "tower" simply buy a PCI Firewire card, fairly cheap and readily available and install.
If it is a laptop, you'll need a PCMCIA / Express slot Firewire card, (check laptop manual to see which it uses) and install then.
Then away you go
