i have a 24 lbs thrust minn kota model 35. i got it at a garage sale with no box. i've hooked it up to our tractor so i know it works, but i don't know what amperage or type of battery i should buy for it.

Just get a deep cycle battery for marine use.

Hi, All you need is a 12 Volt Deep Cell marine Battery, or any deep cell actually, Wal-Mart has them, you will need to pick up a battery charger also to re-charge after a day on the lake. Happy boating

A 12 volt deep cycle marine battery is what all trolling motors use.

Buy a regular deep cycle trolling motor battery that's available at Sears, Wal-Mart, or other department stores, or marine dealers.

regular deep cycle battery Ask for a "RV24 or an "RV27" type battery. The RV 27 is a tad longer.

Recharge you battery after EVERY use.
