50 pounds in 2 months is too much. A healthy rate is considered 2-3 pounds per week. Weight that is lost very quickly can also be gained back very quickly.
Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the calories burned by your body on "idle". This is the minimum amount of energy needed by the body at rest in the fasting state. This includes the body functions such as circulation, breathing, generating body heat, transmitting messages to the brain, cellular metabolism, and the production of body chemicals.
A simple way to determine your BMR is using the basic "rule of ten". Multiply your weight by the number 10 and this is your BMR. For example a person weighing 150 pounds would have a BMR of 1500 calories. (150 x 10 = 1500).
This BMR number is about 60% of your total calorie needs for the day. The digestion and absorption of nutrients makes up 10% and the other 30% comes from your physical activity. This includes anything from blinking your eyes, getting dressed, washing the car, to running a marathon. For example, a person weighing 150 pounds would need:
Basal Metabolism…………... 60%……….1500 calories
Digestion and Absorption…...10%……… 250 calories
Physical Activity…………….... 30%……… 750 calories
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Energy use for the day……. 100%……….2500 calories
Therefore to lose weight, one needs to consume fewer calories than are needed each day.
Basically, you create a deficit of calories in 2 (or 3) different ways:
Eating Less Calories than you Burn each Day.
Eat anything less than what you use each day (1500 cal BMR, 250 cal digestion= 1750), consistently, and you will lose weight. So, if you eat 1200 on this day (a 550 calorie deficit), and all week long like this, you will lose 1 pound (3500 calories) in about a week.
Exercising More
Keep your caloric intake the same (1750) and create your deficit by burning extra calories. So, if you burned 500 calories through exercise alone, you will still lose 1 pound in about a week.
A Combination of Both Diet and Exercise
This is the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off.
Say you cut your calories by 300 and burn 250 calories with exercise. There is your 550 calorie deficit—with much less deprivation and work.
You could speed it up by cutting more calories and exercising more—whatever works best for you. Some people hate to diet, others hate to exercise, so maybe you’ll do more or less of either one.
Of course, the example above was just for simplicity. You can cut any number of calories from your diet (more or less than the 500 in the example) and you can burn more or less than the example illustrates. As long as you are consistent, your deficit will "add up" over time…and you’ll slim down.

Less carbs, low fat protein, and add more cardio. At least 5 days a week if you have the time. 45 minutes and then add some weight training three days a week.. No eating after 6pm. Only a light snack... banana, apple etc.. but, losing 50 lbs. in two months isn't realistic.. Losing weight and eating healthy is a life long goal. Those commercials on tv showing all this weight loss are not the avg. individual. Take your time.. Maybe 12 months might be realistic or even 8-9... Good luck

don't listen to the people who say that isn't possible. it is possible if you do it correctly. use both weight training and cardio workouts daily. Find a partner for workouts too, it helps tremendously having someone there to push you, and also having someone that you can support.
watch what you eat. when you start don't cut out every kind of food you like completely, just limit how much of it you eat. then, gradually stop eating that kind of food. Whatever you do, DO NOT skip meals, or barely eat. Still eat during the day, but dont depend on the normal 3 meals. eat more times during the day, eating healthy foods at a low amount.
hope this helped! and good luck!
P.S
there are people on The Biggest Loser who were able to lose over 20 pounds a week, and in a healthy way! So don't believe people when they tell you it's healthy to lose 2 pounds max a week.

if you did, it would be a LOT of water weight
and very unhealthy. it takes time, it didn't take you 2 months to put on 50 pounds so it won't take you 2 months to lose it. But there is always a place to start, so start now. try exercising for 30 minutes every day, like walking around the block. and reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories and your could lose 1-2 pounds per week! but don't go by weight, go by how your cloths fit, because if you have more muscle then your going to weigh more, but muscles help burn off calories even when your resting. good luck && i wish you the best!

That's an unsafe rate of weight loss, achievable only by starving yourself. This can lead to health problems far more serious than being 50 pounds overweight.
Yeah, that sucks, doesn't it? Aim for no more than 2-2.5 pounds a week. In fact, slower loss like 1 pound a week is more likely to stay off.

That is a lot of weight to lose in a little amount of time. The only way to lose weight is to exercise and diet. Eat healthy and reduce the amount you eat...Portion control. Keep working out every night and make sure you do cardio:run, bike, etc. The pounds will probably not melt off....it takes time!

It is very difficult to lose 50 pounds in 2 months. Starving too much is not a good idea either. If you're very fat, you may want to try 'Liposuction.'

Drink PLENTY of water. And I mean as many as GALLONS as possible per day. Sleep 8 hours. Only buy skim milk and diet coke. Do NOT buy chips or cookies or anything with a lot of sugar (ice cream).
Buy like various fruits: Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Apples, Pears, Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Apricots, Pineapple, Banana, Cherries, Grapes, Watermelon, Oranges, Kiwis. You don't have to have all of them, just whatever one's you want. Cut them up, put them into a blender, put in a lot of ice as well, and mix it. The smoothie will taste excellent.
Buy various vegetables: Celery, Parsley, Spinach, Broccoli, Carrots, Scallions, Corn. Cut them up and put them in boiling water. Also buy vegetable broth. Add salt and pepper. And you will have some nice soup. You can also toast some bread with the soup, it will taste good.

Maybe you hit a plateux. It is when your body gets used to the exercise & diet routine and you no longer lose weight. You can try to break the plateux by upping your exercise quite a bit (add an extra 30 minutes or something).
I hope this helped.
