Sounds like a CV joint. $150. parts and labor is about right.

Everyones suggestions conserning prices is inline.

If your inclined to try it yourself for your own satisfaction here are my suggestions:

The part actually costs about $60.00 for a re-manufactured one at any auto parts store. They are super easy to change with a couple of free rental tools from your local Auto Zone.

A deep well socket to remove the nut on the half shaft, a pitman arm puller to release the lower ball joint, a three jaw 5 ton puller to press the old half shaft out of the wheel bearing is all the rental tools needed.

To release the halfshaft from the transmission a wonderbar works fine.

It's the CV, constant velocity, joint at the front wheel. Probably the right one, but that's only a guess. How much? Because your car is a discontinued import for Ford from whoknowswhere I can't guess. As low as $99, [unlikely], to over $500, [also unlikely]. OK, I'll guess...$287.50.
